 Near Perfect Reproduction Of Studio Intended Sound!Jul 23, 2009
I Purchased this from a diffrent site, for the same amount listed here. Anyways, this cartridge/stylus is the biggest bang for your buck by far. I just installed this on my turntable and right away the diffrence was know. If you are upgrading from a factory installed cartridge on a lower end turntable, then you shound consider purchasing a anti-static cleaning brush, so that it will remove 99% of your dust. The reason I say this is that this cartridge will pick up everything even the slightest particle.
Pros:
Cheap as compared to other brands and the frequency range is amazing considering the price. The Gold over the Silver is slightly noticible on mediokre systems, but on Hi-Fi systems it becomes clear why it is of the top 5% of production. This truly brings your records to life. If you like the Beatles, and you have an album in near mint condidtion, it sounds as if they are preforming right in front of you. The Coldplay X&Y album's vocals are austounding, specificly on "Fix You".
Cons:
It is not the absolute best out ther, but in all honesty, if you want to go higher than this look to spend in the neighborhood of $500 for a real nice cartridge. Other than that I haven't seen any problems with this what so ever.
Other Thoughts:
It recomends a tracking force of 1.5, but i went just a little less than that as to better preserve my albums.

Grado has been the great maker in America for decades. Joe is the designer and opera singer; his brother has taken over running the business. I have been using their whole range for years. This model gives you entrance into the real high end.
If you cannot afford it, then go to a lesser model. They make no junk even at the lowest cost.
The reason I give 4 stars is because Grado goes into very high models that Amazon does not carry. I have used the top of the line with great satisfaction. There are also other brands to consider once you get over $500.
The other great brands that Amazon carries are Sure and Otrophon. Aamzon does not carry their full lines, but they are well worth mentioning.
