Best sounding headphones for the moneyAug 28, 2009 I purchased 2 pairs because the first set sounded so great. The base, mid and highs are very crisp. I have a Zune 80gb and these iGrado headphones bring it to life!!!

Great sound, annoying fitJun 22, 2009 These replace my Sennheiser PX100s, which I liked but lost. Cursory research in mid-2009 showed these 2 (plus the Koss PortaPros) are well reviewed for people wanting good quality, non-earbud portable earphones under $50. Both sound good. Neither will cut you off from ambient sounds--good for walking, not good for sealing out noisy environments.
PROS
I'm not an audiophile nor have I done a systematic comparison, but: iGrados sound great, to me even a tad better than my Grado SR60s, especially the bass. Personally I prefer the iGrados to the PX100s, can't explain why--warmer? more natural? But I'd be happy using the PX100s for walking/running.
CONS
Like others, I find the iGrados uncomfortable--not excruciatingly but annoyingly so. They fit tight. They are not at all adjustable which seems a big design flaw. The picture reveals: a plastic headpiece curving over the foam pads goes over and behind your ears, providing a secure fit which however misaligns my eyeglasses, and in any case it annoys me to have them sitting on my ears. Since the hard plastic band goes around the back of your neck, it can be awkward to lean back and listen to music with these, but for that I can use my Grado SR60s. They are not foldable like the PX100s and the cord assembly seems flimsy.
Overall, the great sound overrides the comfort issues especially since I mainly use the iGrados for walking.

Been looking at the Bose but can't justify $300????Jun 07, 2009 As a frequent airline traveler, I have been eyeing the noise cancelling Bose headphones for years but could not justify the $300+. I have purchased countless ear bud versions that sounded tinny and shallow. Discovered the IGrado headphones and hoped that finally there was an ipod headphone product that would live up to my expectations.
Great news!!! If you are a frequent traveler and can't justify the Bose, these are absolutely the ipod headphones for you. At $49, the sound is consistent with brands charging 10x. They are a bit bulky, not your jogging headphones. The around the neck, over the ear fitting makes them comfortable for long periods on the plane, in the hotel room or in your living room.
This product is a no-brainer!!!

Sound Good; Comfort Not so MuchJun 01, 2009 This is my 3rd Grado headphone purchase. I wanted a set of portable headphones and was glad I was able to get a set of Grado headphones given my previous satisfaction with the brand. Sound is great for the price. Only complaint is that they do not fit well on my head with my glasses.

Stiff Plastic & Design FlawsMay 31, 2009 I agree with another reviewer that after about an hour, these headphones start to hurt right above where they sit on the ear. I had to take them off it was that irritating. Also, the headphones cannot be adjusted (the plastic mechanism that is).
Grado designed the wiring that inserts into each side of the headphone so that when you take them off to rest them on your neck (which I was in need of doing in order to have any conversation with people)the wires directly contact your neck/shoulder area and that puts all the weight of the headphones on the very lightweight cords. I am sure that after a while, the cords at that point of contact will begin to fail. They just get bent about to much when resting on the neck area.
I loved the sound but cannot handle the design flaws. 2.5 Stars out of 5
