5NADT765 A MAGICAL TALISMENT OF SOUNDJun 08, 2009
A SUPERIOR HOME THEATER RECIEVER AND OUT CLASSES MOST ALL BUT THE HIGHEST CLASSES! EVEN ENTERNET RADIO THRU 18FT OF RCA STEREO CABLES GIVES WONDERFUL MUSIC PLAYBACK.{ANALOGE GAIN ADJUSTABLE IN MENU)CD PLAYBACK SOUNDS INCREDIBLY SUPERB,STEREO AVAILIBLE ON 7CH AND SUBS,IM USING A JBL 10",AND A VELODYNE 10" 100WATT AND MY OTHER RECEIVER 7.1 WASNT EVEN CLOSE TOO THE AWESOME SOUND OF MUSIC THIS NADT765 HAS!MY INFINITY BETA 50 AND 20S ALONG WITH BIC HT-63 SPKRS NEVER SOUNDED THIS WARM VIBRANT AND PLEASANTLY FULL BEFORE,EVEN HIGH VOL. THE SOUND REMAINS SUPERBLY ALIVE AND NOT HARSH OF IRRATATING LIKE MY OTHER $500 7.1 AVR! 8ohm spks get v/loud,4ohm spkr, would fill a 30/30 room dangerously loud!
MUSIC ON DVD IS CONCERT HALL REAL AND BREATHTAKING! MIDBASS IS SUPER GOOD AND THE CROSSOVER WORKS WONDERS ON THE SUBS,HEARING THE BASS GUITAR STRING ACTUALLY VIBRATING WARMLY WAS BEAUTIFULLY SURPRIZING,NEVER BEFORE HAVE I HEARD A HOME SYSTEM THIS GOOD SOUNDING EVER!I REALLY DIDNT NO BASEMENT NOTES TOO BE THIS MUSICALLY MAJESTIC! I DIDNT READ THE MANUAL EXCEPT TO USE TV/MONITOR RCA HOOKUP,THEN I SET IT UP EASILY,READING LATER TO SAVE RADIO TUNER PRESETS. THE FULLNESS OF THE LOWS,MIDS,HIGHS TOGETHER PRODUCED COMPLETE ASTONISHMENT WHEN I HEARD WHAT THE 765 DOES! 20YRS IVE DREAMED OF A STEREO SYSTEM JUST LIKE THIS! FINNALLY AFTER WORKING ALL THESE YRS,I FELT I OWED IT TO MYSELY AND IM GLAD I DIDNT BUY THOSE OTHER AVRS THAT JUST DONT RESOLVE MUSIC WORTH THE MONEY,THE NADT765 BLOWS THEM AWAY HANDS DOWN PERIOD. MY SPKS ARE 91DB@1 WATT SENSITIVITY AND RATED 150 WATTS MIN,AND THE T765 IS NOT UNDER POWERED AT ALL,THE SURR. AND CENTER CHS, ARE MORE POWERFUL THAN MY OTHER 120WATT AVR!NOW THE BAD,ITS FEET STICK TO WOOD LIKE A MAGNET AND ITS A HEAVY 39 LBS,TOP CABINET PLACEMENT IS BEST UNLESS YOU CAN TIE A KNOT IN A MATCHBOX WITH 2 FINGERS ECT;14 SPKR POLARITY CONNECTIONS AND RCA,HMDI,OPTICAL CABLES! I COULDNT INPUT CODE SO FAR INTO CABLE REMOTE !I DO USE AND RECOMMEND PUREGLASS TYPE TOSHLINK FOR DIGITAL INPUTS,BUT A GOOD DIGI COAX SHOULD BE FINE ALSO! THE GOOD IS A LONG LIST,VOL FOR C,SURR,SUB,INDIVIDUALLY ON REMOTE ARE NICE,SOUND PRESETS ARE EASY AND USER FRIENDLY AS EVERYTHING ELSE IS ALSO!
I DONT USE THE HMDI TO NAD AS VIDEO IS DONE ON SET TOP BOX -TV/PS3 WITH HMDI! OK I NO THE NAD IS PRICEY,I SAVED UP AND ORDERED THE REFURB UNIT AND ITS MINT COND. EVERYTHING INCLUDED WITH RECEPT AND WARRENTY! 5 STAR UNIT FOR SURE! AND UPGRADEABLE FROM NAD DEALER! MY USER REVIEW IS A HONEST COMPARISON AFTER OWNING A SIMILAR 7.1 AVR BUT IT WASNT A CHEAP UNIT EITHER! BULLITS AND BOMBS ARE EASY BUT MUSIC CALLS FOR A BETTER UNIT AND THE NAD T765-T775-T785ECT: HAS UM! GOOD HUNTING!

5NAD T765 - Love Music AgainFeb 27, 2009
The NAD T765 rocks past the competition in the most important way - sound. It adds warmth, depth, balance and detail to my consumer grade Polk Monitor Series speakers in a way I didn't think possible. Now my system sounds better than Martin Logans on a Denon 3808. Much better in fact. The sound washes over you like a wave and after a few minutes you remember why you used to love music. Then you can't stop listening. You keep waiting for the next pure and easy note "...playing so free like a breath rippling by" (Thanks, Pete). And then the next. And the one after that. Before long you wife is screaming. Dinner is on the table. Another 15 minutes and you reluctantly turn off the receiver. And that's just the stereo sound. The 7.1 surround processor adds a whole other dimension to movies and HD cable.

They have more natural sounding dialog, crisper effects and tighter bass - even on bottom heavy soundtracks. Everything sounds more balanced. That said there are not a lot of bells and whistles on the NAD - no elaborate sound field processor that duplicates the acoustics of the Royal Albert Hall. But what it does do - making music and movies a delight to listen to - it does better than any 98% of the A/V receivers on the market today. Also note that while the T765 has all of the basic decoders (DTS/Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic, etc.), the new Blue Ray formats only come on the newer T765 "HD" model. But there are upgrade modules available for the older T765 to make it current. Also, if you have a Blue Ray player with 7.1 analog outputs, you can feed them into the 7.1 inputs on the receiver.

[...]Remember that sound is very subjective thing. In the end it is a matter of personal preference. How you yourself perceive the music. There is no one perfect receiver that everyone agrees is the best. Though in my humble wannabe audiophile opinion, the NAD T765 comes pretty darn close.
